Applications for tabletsA number of Swedish newspapers are now offering pdf-versions for the iPad and other tablets. However, we have seen a few examples of newspapers in Sweden that have gone beyond this approach, offering a more innovative newspaper version aimed for tablets. Perhaps the most important example is Bonnier, who presented their Mag+ solution for magazines already at the launch of the iPad in January 2010. The equivalent solution for newspapers is called News+ and was presented in November 2010, at the time of the Swedish iPad launch.News+ provides the readers with an innovative experience, which takes advantage of the possibilities of the iPad-format, combining the best from the web, the paper and the tablet. The new format was developed by Bonnier R&D and implemented in the following Swedish newspapers: Dagens Nyheter, Sydsvenskan, Dagens Industri, and Expressen.
