Tidningsutgivarna är en branschorganisation som arbetar för fria och konkurrenskraftiga medier för ett öppet och demokratiskt samhälle
Norran’s eRedDuring 2010 the Swedish regional media house Norran initiated eEditor – an interactive newsdesk where readers are invited to participate in the exciting news work.eEditor works like this: Norran publishes a memo over on-going news stories in the morning and readers participate via a live chat. They contribute with topics, knowledge, contacts etc. The status of eEditor streams out into different social media platforms and works like a ”sandwich man” on a popular shopping street, thus generating traffic. There are several advantages, for example higher quality in reporting with better coverage and more in-depth knowledge, but also adding more transparency to the work (and the image/trademark). Participation increases the feeling for the product (I co-created - the newspaper is mine!), and there is recognition to all who participate through voluntary reader bylines. An iPhone is also given to the best tip-off or suggestion of the month. Traffic on Facebook has increased by 500 per cent. Bidrag till ENPA:s 50 ideas for the future of newspapers in Europe.
