Pralin – a local web community for the women of Dalarna

Dalarnas Tidningars Pralin is a local web community, launched in March of 2010. It is the sister product of the locally produced lifestyle supplement Pralin, published on Saturdays as a part of the regional newspaper Dalarnas Tidningar, print circulation approx 62 000/six days a week.

Engaged female readers create their own content, blog style, in the community. The reader generated content in food, home decoration, health, fashion, parenthood and lifestyle issues, mirrors the focus of the printed Pralin, although they are entirely different products, each catering to a different need in the reader.

The reader´s material moves in part from web to print, but in most respects the channels are separated although highly related.
In the online recipe bank more than 1000 reader submitted dishes are presented. Readers are encouraged to submit their own food favourites.

The idea behind the community was to explore the new possibilites of interactivity and involvement that online offers, and to share the creative process with a special and strategically important targetgroup in our readership: women.
